Inclusive Ethiopia strategy 2026-2030
Accessibility Rights
Universal accessibility enables persons with disabilities to access public infrastructure, services, information, and opportunities on an equal basis with others.
Why accessibility rights matter
Accessibility is a fundamental human right and a prerequisite for full participation. Physical, communication, information, transport, and attitudinal barriers can limit access to education, healthcare, employment, justice, and other essential services.
Our strategic approach
Inclusive Ethiopia will promote universal accessibility through inclusive infrastructure, accessible information and communication, inclusive public services, and implementation of national accessibility standards.
Priority actions
- Raise awareness of universal design and accessibility standards.
- Advocate for accessible infrastructure, information, and services.
- Train local authorities, engineers, and service providers.
- Conduct accessibility audits and support practical modifications.
- Work with government institutions, service providers, the private sector, communities, and OPDs to remove barriers.
The change we seek
Persons with disabilities experience improved and equal access to public services, infrastructure, information, education, health facilities, transport systems, and opportunities.
