Inclusion foundations

Accessibility, participation, dignity, and equality work together. Start by understanding the six strategic pillars, then consider the barriers and changes that matter in your own school, workplace, community, or organisation.

1. Notice barriers: look at physical spaces, information, services, attitudes, and decision-making.
2. Listen and involve: persons with disabilities should participate meaningfully in shaping solutions.
3. Act for access: use universal design, accessible communication, and inclusive practices.
4. Protect dignity and safety: give attention to gender equality, safeguarding, and respectful participation.
