Inclusive Ethiopia strategy 2026-2030
Disability-Inclusive Humanitarian Action and Emergency Response
This pillar advances equitable access to protection, humanitarian assistance, and recovery before, during, and after emergencies.
Why inclusive humanitarian action matters
Persons with disabilities can be disproportionately affected by conflict, disasters, disease outbreaks, and other emergencies because services may be inaccessible, emergency planning may exclude them, and protection risks may increase.
Our strategic approach
Inclusive Ethiopia will promote disability inclusion throughout preparedness, response, recovery, and resilience-building so that no one is left behind.
Priority actions
- Promote inclusive disaster-risk reduction and emergency preparedness.
- Advance accessible early-warning systems and inclusive needs assessments.
- Support accessible humanitarian assistance and protection services.
- Strengthen disability inclusion in recovery programmes.
- Work with humanitarian actors, government agencies, communities, and OPDs to ensure meaningful participation.
The change we seek
Persons with disabilities actively participate in humanitarian planning and have equitable access to life-saving assistance, protection, and recovery opportunities.
